If you’re from the camp where less is so, so much more; where intimate = fabulous then you’re going to be right at home with this wedding. Southern California is known for its laid back albeit insanely chic style and Eliza J.‘s images of this Laguna Beach reception are falling right instep with that theory. It’s the kind of easy elegance that lends itself to a reception turned dinner party where the food is phenomenal and the surroundings are populated by your nearest and dearest and the prettiest of blooms. They are flowers that literally brought the Bride to happy tears. Us too Jen, us too. See it all right here.
From Eliza J. Photography … This day was so beautiful and unique. Chandler and Jen had a private, intimate wedding at an up-and-coming venue in the artsy downtown of Laguna Beach on March 24, 2012. What was special about this wedding was that it was so personal. Very few people were invited to a luxurious, sit-down dinner including blue cheese-encrusted filet mignon and tapioca-encrusted, coconut curry salmon. The rustic yet modern decor really set the tone and the ambiance for their special day, and the bride and groom happily conversed and thanked everyone who came personally. Jen’s dress was a custom-made, hand-sewn gown by the talented Sara Archibald of Illume Gowns. Everything about this day was intimate and special, and the bride and groom were so gracious and loving, not to mention incredibly beautiful.
From the Bride… A wedding without a cake, bridal party, bouquet toss or toasts? This might sound strange to some, but it is exactly what we wanted. Chandler and I envisioned a very simple and intimate reception with our nearest and dearest. We had one priority: food! To accomplish this, we searched high and low for the right venue, and we hit the jackpot with Broadway in Laguna Beach. The venue spoke for itself, the food was unreal, my florist brought me to happy tears, and my photographer captured the day perfectly. Our coordinator pulled everything together from behind the scenes for a seamless afternoon. What can I say? The vendors did it all, which allowed me to sit back and soak up having our closest friends and family in an amazing atmosphere. It couldn’t have been a more relaxing day.
