DIY Halloween Pumpkin Chiller

Ever thought a hollowed out pumpkin could be used for something so lovely? We simply added a dose of white pant to a cleaned up pumpkin, filled it with ice and placed a bottle of sparkling wine inside and we had an insta-centerpiece that made our guests smile from ear to ear. Read on for all of the how-to details!

Supplies:

large pumpkin

clear cylinder vase (slightly shorter and no wider than the pumpkin — large enough to fit ice and a champagne bottle inside)

white spray paint

dropcloth to paint on

pencil

large knife

large spoon

ice

Instructions for Pumpkin Chiller:

Step 1: Spray-paint the top and sides of the pumpkin white on your dropcloth. Let dry for 30 minutes. Flip the pumpkin over, and spray the bottom. Let dry.

Step 2: Place your vase upside down on top of your pumpkin and trace the circle shape with your pencil

Step 3: Remove the vase, and use the knife to cut out the lid of the pumpkin. Check to see that the vase fits and isn’t too loose inside the pumpkin. Scoop out the insides of the pumpkin, leaving some pulp at the bottom so the vase is propped up enough to meet the top edge of the pumpkin.

Step 4: Place the vase inside and fill with ice. Add a bottle of champagne, and you’re ready to party!
