Dandenongs Pre-Wedding Photo Session from Erin King Photographer

There are lots of things I adore about this pre-wedding shoot, but I have to say, this couple's outfit choices are absolutely to die for!  The colors, the bride's gorgeous dresses, the groom's bright patterned button downs -- These two are waaaay ahead on the fashion curve, and it's not too surprising since they co-run a Kenzo store. I wish I could take a couple styling lessons from them! And the shoot is romantic, playful and fashionable - just like the couple. Many thanks to Erin King Photographer for capturing the magic right here in the full gallery of photos!

From the Bride-to-Be... We have been dating for 11.5 years now, and we met each other during our high school time in Singapore. When my best friend starting dating Hengky's cousin, we both accompanied them on their first date. From there, we kept in touch and our feelings grew. Then we continued our journey together attending Monash University in Melbourne. After graduation, we continued to work together in Jakarta, running the Kenzo store. After many ups and downs, we got engaged on July 29, 2012.

From Erin King Photographer... Shierla & Hengky contacted me from Indonesia, where they are currently based, to arrange an Indonesian-styled traditional pre-wedding photography session in Melbourne. They both studied in Melbourne prior to moving to Jakata, Indonesia, where they now work and run the Kenzo clothing store. This lucky couple gets to travel to Paris fashion week to buy the new season's ranges for the store each year! They are both very fashion-forward and put a lot of effort into their styling and props to match the theme of each outfit. They specifically wanted the photos in Melbourne to show lovely lush green natural and pretty settings — in contrast to the smog-covered, busy city they live in. Shierla knew she wanted to get out of the city and have their photos in a scenic location. After throwing around suggestions of Yarra Valley, Mornington and the Dandenongs, I suggested we settle on the Dandenongs, which offer so many beautiful garden and natural forest type settings.

With Shierla being quite shy and reserved, it was important to her to be able to relax and enjoy their photography session so their moments together could be captured in natural way. She wanted their photos to show that they are having fun and enjoying the session in a colorful, intimate and romantic way. Shierla and Hengky get married in Bali in March next year, which is going to be a grand-scale event with over 1,000 guests.
