Savannah Wedding from Amy Arrington Photography

Of all places to get married, I believe Savannah might be the most romantic and charming. Sure, I could have a slight bias since I went to college in the lovely historic town, but this wedding from Amy Arrington Photography could very well prove my case. And when you take one look at this darling bride’s radiant smile, you’ll be smitten for good. See every moment in the gallery right here.

From the Bride… We wanted our wedding day to be simple, classy and romantic. I was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, which is also where Chris and I met and started dating. So naturally we couldn’t think of a better place to get married since Savannah has such a special place in our hearts. We were married at Richmond Hill United Methodist Church, and our reception was at the DeSoto Hilton hotel in downtown Savannah among the historic squares and beautiful oak trees.

The bridesmaids wore flirty, ruffled, eggplant-colored, halter dresses by Alfred Sung, and the groomsmen dressed in traditional black and ivory tuxes by Calvin Klein. My cousin performed a solo of Christina Perri’s “Thousand Years” just before my father walked me down the aisle to Canon in D. I carried a bouquet of cream polo roses, white mini calla lilies, white freesia and green cymbidium orchids. We left the ceremony in a ’56 Chevy provided by a friend of the family and headed downtown to Madison Square to take pictures with the wonderful Amy Arrington Photography while guests enjoyed a cocktail hour in the Hilton’s Pulaski Room with our signature drink, a “Georgia Peach.”

Following the cocktail hour, guests moved into the Madison Ballroom to enjoy a three-course dinner. Our escort cards led guests to the “Savannah Square” they were assigned to, rather than the usual table numbers. For our cake, we went with a delicious, square, four-tier buttercream and vanilla cake embellished with green cymbidium orchids mimicking my bouquet  Before guests headed home, they could grab a jar of homemade strawberry jam from Justus Orchard, which my in-laws own and run in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Chris and I couldn’t think of a better way to exit the night than with a horse-drawn carriage ride around downtown while our guests showered us in bubbles. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect, special day!
