Hudson Hotel Wedding from 4Eyes Photography + Hatch Creative Studio

Some days I just crave a gorgeous black tie affair in New York City. And because today just so happens to be one of those days, I am super giddy to share this Hudson Hotel wedding filled to the brim with so much style, happiness, and love. Captured by 4Eyes Photography, it’s the kind of soiree that will put a smile on your face for days. Our wedding was inspired by the fact that we are from different parts of the world. Sebastian is from Paraguay and Ryan is from Michigan. All of our paper products (invitation, menu, ceremony program, escort cards) included a Paraguayan immigration stamp, a Michigan stamp and a custom Sebastian & Ryan passport stamp with the date of the wedding. We also used Spanish for certain key words or phrases and portions of the ceremony were spoken in Spanish as well. In lieu of a candle lighting ceremony we did a sand blending ceremony where Sebastian poured red sand (representing the color of the earth in Paraguay) and Ryan poured tan sand (representing the color of the beaches along lake Michigan) into one vase — symbolizing the blending of our lives, families and cultures.

Because we are both men, it was important to us that the flowers and decor be masculine and rustic yet modern and stylish. Hatch Creative Studio and the Hudson Hotel really captured this balance perfectly. There were a few special touches such as including the Passion Flower which is the national flower of Paraguay and the ceremony arch was made of aspen trees which was a reference to the aspen forest in Colorado where Ryan proposed to Sebastian during a beautiful horseback ride. We also selected the Hudson Hotel as the venue not only because it had the masculine chic vibe we were going for but because it was where we had one of our first dates.
