This is one of those special kinds of weddings that is so packed solid with personality it is doing pretty little kicks, all in a straight, gorgeous row. It’s the kind of wedding that makes you smile because you can almost feel the love between two people radiating out of the images from Stephanie Reinish Photography. It’s the kind of wedding that can cause instant excitement, leading to delays at work, so maybe set your out of office reply before you hop into the gallery for the rest of the morning.

We met in the summer of 2007 in Boston at a friend’s birthday party. I was in law school at Boston College and Jon was teaching visual arts at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School. A mutual friend, Jackie Striano (who officiated our wedding!), introduced us and the rest was history. Jon designed the engagement ring using his incredible creative side with the main diamond from my mother’s engagement ring (she passed away when I was 6) and help from a dear friend, Monica, who’s father is a jeweler in Manhattan and was able to have a colleague execute Jon’s ideas. The proposal happened very early one Saturday morning when our rescue pup, Zooey, jumped on me to wake me up (as she does every morning), but on this very special day, she had my gorgeous ring hanging from her collar and a sign that said “Will you marry my Daddy??”. We are obsessed with our little pooch so this was the perfect proposal — I beamed and immediately started crying and, of course, said YES!
We wanted a place that wouldn’t be a hassle to coordinate (i.e. having to get all the vendors, tables, caterers etc.) ourselves but that would lend itself to our strong desire for a country style, classy but fun wedding — and that gave us enough room to be creative. We also really wanted all of our guests to stay with us and enjoy the weekend. The Stroudsmoor Country Inn was able to do all that we wanted…and more. The space was exactly what we were looking for and the day turned out perfectly thanks to the amazing staff at Stroudsmoor that executed everything to exceed all expectations.
Jon and I are really social people and we just enjoy having fun with our loved ones. We wanted a wedding that was classy but, given that it was summer, we wanted to keep everything a bit more playful. I absolutely love bright colors and honestly couldn’t decide on just one color to feature — so we went with a bunch! The invitations were designed and hand letter pressed by the groom. Jon truly added a special element by creating what essentially turned into our “wedding brand”. We carried it all through our save the dates, invites, all printed items at the wedding and our favors.
Our friend who introduced us, officiated our marriage with a really personal and touching ceremony. She incorporated thoughts she gathered from our nearest and dearest for a truly special marriage ceremony. As my parents passed away when I was young, my mother’s brother (my Uncle Sal Salandra) and my father’s sister (my Aunt Ronnie DeLoreto) walked me down the aisle and gave me away on behalf of each side of my family, which was an emotional and beautiful part of the ceremony.
Our first look was one of my most vivid memories. Waiting for him to appear behind me was excruciating but once I had Jon back by my side…everything seemed to fall into place (after we cried a whole bunch of tears of happiness to see one another). It’s so hard to choose a favorite photo but I think one of my favorites is of the two of us entering the reception — we were so excited to see everyone! I also loved the photos Stephanie took of me when I first got ready from above. So many great ones!
