Not every bride can pull off the short + sassy look when it comes to her big day attire, but this bride makes it look effortless and beyond gorgeous. She married her sweetheart in a ceremony which gives me goosebumps (and I wasn’t even there!) and puts a big, lovey smile on my face. All this thanks to the emotion captured so beautifully by Hawes Photography. Click here to see the rest!

From Hawes Photography … Jay and Laurie are two of the most passionate, personality filled people we have ever met. These St Louis natives turned New Yorkers poured all of that into their fantastic and unique wedding celebration. They asked a variety of family and friends to serve as a “wedding blob” rather than segregating their loved ones into a traditional wedding party. Laurie chose a funky, but still sweet short wedding dress and styled her hair into a mohawk. Jay matched perfectly in probably the coolest groom shoes we’ve ever seen and sweet hat. Their tear filled ceremony was led by a close friend, and their family showed off how their personalities were nurtured at the reception with Jay and Laurie masks and a sing along. All of these touches were amazing and really made the day unique, but what stands out even more is the time we spent shooting them. Their connection is almost palpable. They passionately love each other and are passionate about having fun together. We were lucky enough to capture all of this and provide them with pictures that matched their personality.
