From the Bride... When we first started talking about what we wanted our wedding to look like, we agreed immediately that we wanted to have a fun and laid-back party, and everything just seemed to fall into place. I bought the first dress I tried on, booked the first venue I saw and trusted Etsy vendors and local businesses the whole way through. We never tried to fit into a mold or a theme; we just picked what we liked and went with it. What we came up with was a simple, intimate party with all of our favorite people there, dancing to our favorite music and eating our favorite foods. I was also adamant about having my hands in all parts of the planning process and spent many late nights sewing bunting banners, making dessert plates and designing programs. This made the day feel so special because there was a touch of us in everything. If I can offer one piece of advice to anyone planning a wedding, it is to hire a coordinator if you can. My event planner Amanda was crucial in the planning process, and she took care of all the logistical things and even did things I didn't think of myself. I can only imagine how stressful it is to corral vendors and act as a coordinator while you're getting your makeup done and having your picture taken. The bottom line, however, is that this day is a party. Do what YOU want, don't compromise your vision and absorb everything because it really is over so quickly.
