A few weeks ago we featured a wedding on our Little Black Book blog so gorgeous, we couldn’t help but give it some more time to shine. A barn transformed into a classic affair with a nod to rustic elegance so beautifully crafted by La Fete Weddings and Cody Floral Design, you will be dreaming in perfectly draped ceilings and dessert tables a plenty. From the Bride… Rob and Holly had dated for a year when he asked for her hand in marriage at a birthday party for Holly’s mother. Rob stood up, and after a short toast to Peach (Holly’s mom), Rob turned the focus to Holly, letting all the guests know that tomorrow, April 3, would be their one year anniversary together and that he was sorry because he didn’t have anything planned. But he did have something right now. Rob knelt down on one knee, unhooked an engagement ring from under his chair and asked Holly to marry him. She quickly replied “Yes!”
From La Fete Weddings… When we met Peach and Holly, we felt an immediate connection. We had similar taste in design, and since we are a mother-daughter team, we began to grow closer and closer throughout the wedding planning. We developed a color theme of taupe, soft blush pink and pale blue that would work with their venue, the barn at Camarillo Ranch, and they fell in love with it! We discussed the lighting and draping we felt would be appropriate to create a warm and beautiful atmosphere, and when it all came together on May 5, 2012, it took everyone’s breath away! Since the event took place on Cinco de Mayo we decided to create a festive cocktail hour with bright-colored linens, flowers, umbrellas and a Spanish theme with signature drinks called the “Yowzerita” (yowell/frazier/margarita) and fun tapas-style hors d’oeuvres.
When we brought Holly, Rob, Peach and Russ (parents of the bride) into the barn for a sneak peek before all of the guests came in, they all began to cry tears of joy! It was better than they ever could have imagined, and they could not wait to share it with their guests! With 11H Entertainment on board, the party went on all night! We adored working with this family, and this event was one we will never forget.
