A bride's beautiful elegance and a groom's artistic creations come together in the sweetest of ways in this modern and super stylish Parisian Laundry wedding. I love the bistro inspired signage, and I'm so impressed with the groom's creativity and execution behind the suite of paper products. You rock, groom! From Unity Weddings... Vy-Van and Mike came to me over a year ago with an awesome plan: to have a chic wedding in an urban location with a Parisian bistro flair. Mike is a graphic designer, so for once the bride took a back seat, and the groom got to work with loads of ideas for the design. We settled on a soft palette of lilacs and grays, accented by darker wood. The wedding would have a soft feel through flowers, tons of candle light and spring accents (tulips!), but also some stronger more masculine/industrial touches, such as the dark chairs, wicker chargers, tin flower vases and dark posters on the walls. Looking to create something a bit different for the ceremony, I spent the morning of the wedding creating a backdrop of hanging mason jars with candles softly glowing inside. We also decided to get a little wacky with the chairs and silver lamé cushions to tie in with the metal vases and checkering the whole thing. The bride and groom wanted to infuse the wedding with personal touches, so Mike designed the entire stationery suite (invites, table numbers, posters and favor labels). In lieu of traditional bonbonnieres, the guests took home a baked-in-the-jar banana bread to enjoy for breakfast the next day. We also added to traditional table rentals by custom-making gray tweed runners.
