From the Bride…Although we live in the Northeast, we decided to have a destination wedding in San Antonio because it’s my hometown and has a truly special and unique character. Our wedding began with a Catholic ceremony at San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio’s Main Plaza followed by a reception at Hotel Contessa on the Riverwalk. We incorporated San Antonio’s vibe into our wedding with a Mexican folk music group at our ceremony and an all-female mariachi band and Mexican wedding cookies at our reception. To add to our wedding theme, we decided to have our reception at a Spanish-themed hotel. We fell in love with Hotel Contessa’s Spanish food and charm and Riverwalk location and thought it would be the perfect place to celebrate our special day.
