Loves Park Photo Shoot from Lauren Wave Weddings

Every so often a photo shoot comes across our desks at Style Me Pretty, and it's so picture perfect that we momentarily feel suspended in midair while we absorb the gorgeousness. That's exactly what happened with this Midwest countryside shoot. The focal point is a rustic, makeshift sweetheart table with an easily replicable tablescape of succulents, proteas and spray-painted wine bottles tied with ribbon. Love, love, love! Thank you, White Shutter Photography for capturing the beautiful creations right here in the full gallery of photos.

From Lauren Wave Weddings... A romantic sweetheart table, gorgeous bouquets full of lush blooms and succulents, real-life husband and wife models and the gorgeous countryside of northern Illinois were the perfect combination for this ethereal, stylized shoot. Aaron and Philan, of White Shutter Photography, did an incredible job of coaxing the quiet intimacy of the outdoors into the photos, while also capturing the beauty of all of the details. The shoot took place in Loves Park, Illinois, which features the big heart on the water tower seen in the background of some of the photos. Perfect, right?!

Our vision for this shoot was to create a romantic setting that focused on the bride and groom and the beauty of love. Also of importance was highlighting the natural landscape that is all around us in the Midwest. We may not have oceans or mountains, but there are acres upon acres of fields and rich farmland. I wanted to create a tablescape that could not only be easily duplicated and had DIY elements, but that was also inspiring and unique at the same time. Using pallets for the sweetheart table was the perfect way to upcycle and work with the rustic outdoors instead of trying to compete against it. The metallic elements of the spray-painted wine bottles and ribbon played perfectly off of the various protea plants. A vintage chandelier and delicate, hanging air plants warmed up the lovers' table while bringing in the cozy floor pillows added just the right amount of intimacy to complete the look.

With the gorgeous, wildflower-laden field just a few feet away from the sweetheart table, we knew we had to do something special to showcase its beauty. Aaron and Philan of White Shutter had the perfect dessert table in their personal collection. We filled it with potted succulents and topped it with flaky pies on platters from Anthropologie. Perfection. The whole shoot, in fact, was perfection. The vision that White Shutter and I had came together with the amazing talents of trusted vendors who were so wonderful and helpful, as well as our incredible models who are such a sweet couple. You can feel their love for each other through the photos. We were thrilled with the result!
