Truth be told, there isn’t a coral peony that we’ve met and haven’t adored from first glance. Or pink, or blush and every other color under the rainbow for that matter. Peonies are our jam and when blended with the likes of garden roses, hydrangeas and other such pretties they make for a well floraled wedding. From the Bride… Once Thomas and I got engaged, the first thing we did was find our venue. We knew our aesthetic and what we wanted, but we just had to find “the” place. Once my grandma took us out to her friend’s property, we knew it was the perfect location and decided to have the wedding there. We both wanted it to be outside with lots of greenery, and we wanted it to be whimsical and fun. I fell in love with all of the willow trees and, of course, the lake! Right away I knew what colors, flowers and look I wanted for the wedding. It was pretty clear based on my Pinterest board what I liked because every picture had the same theme to it. Thomas was such a trooper with how feminine a lot of the details were. He said “whatever makes you happy, makes me happy.” We started out only wanting white on white with a blush tone here and there. We ended up adding different shades of pink to add pops of color so it was not too monochromatic. I love how the colors popped without being too overbearing and too matchy-matchy.
Our day turned out exactly how we envisioned it, and we could not have been happier. Even though it rained (a little), it didn’t put a damper on our day at all! Thomas and I were both SO glad that we wrote our own vows — it made the ceremony so special and personal. We both felt as if no one was there! We definitely could not have made the wedding happen without all of the help from our family and friends. They spent countless hours helping us with details and bringing our vision to life. All throughout our honeymoon, Thomas and I kept saying to each other how we wanted to go back re-live it again and again. It was without a doubt, the best day of our lives.
