From the Bride... As a designer by trade, I am obsessed with beauty and perfection. So as soon as I got engaged the first thing I did was to come up with my wedding design theme, which was "Romantic Elegance," and then I submerged myself in finding inspiration for the wedding. Every detail had a sense of sweetness with a splash of elegance. The primary colors I picked, pink and silver, effortlessly exuded that romantic and elegant feel. It was important to add my personal touch to the wedding details, so I made all the stationery, which stretched from save-the-dates, invitations and dinner menus to table numbers, programs and so much more. In addition to guest sign-in book and photo books for viewing, I made response cards for our guests to fills out that had questions such as "Love is?" and "My advice to you is..."
I had decided early on that I wanted us to get married in California, even though my husband and I lived in Michigan. Throughout the 10 months of planning, Gini from Gini Garner Events helped us find the best vendors around the area and guided us every step of the way. Since we were living in another state, Gini's help was instrumental in choreographing all the vendors.
Our wedding venue, St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, was a dream. The breathtaking view overlooking the ocean, the Mediterranean-styled hotel and the perfect 75 degrees weather were everything I wanted in a wedding. The botanical garden at the St. Regis provided an intimate and romantic ceremony space that was perfect for our 80 guests. The beautiful gazebo was adorned with blush pink flowers that had droplets of crystals hanging. A harpist played soft, romantic wedding music as guests arrived. During the 45 minute ceremony, which felt like only five minutes, all I was focused on was my husband and our future together. One of the best parts of the ceremony was when my bridesmaid played “You Raise Me Up” on the flute with the harpist. It was an emotional and touching moment of love traveling through the atmosphere with the melody. As we exited the aisle as husband and wife, our guests blew bubbles our way. It was a magical ceremony. And we celebrated all night eating, dancing and sharing love.
