Classic Pittsburgh Wedding from Craig Photography
My heart has a special little pitter it reserves for the excitement of a fabulous black tie soiree. My pulse quickens a bit, I get butterflies in my stomach, and the corners of my mouth start to sneak north. Especially when it is just. this. amazing. Captured by Craig Photography, this classic soiree is what all my black tie wedded dreams are made of. I promise you that you will fall in love with this gorgeous couple, if you promise me you’ll spend some time in the gallery!

The approach that I hope my guests remember from the wedding is how much love was in the room. From start to finish people were smiling, laughing and dancing. I felt the warmth the entire night….it was a big wedding that felt small because of all of the love in the room. I also LOVED the dancing….and hearing my guests chant one more song. The cookie table and the take out containers that I designed was very special as family and friends made the cookies.
It has been a sixteen year journey for us, one that took us from high school in Pittsburgh, PA to attending colleges 150 miles apart and ultimately brought us together in the greatest city in the world, New York City.
We met as students attending North Allegheny and had a similar group of friends. We would run into one another at concerts (like Jimmy Buffett!) and parties (at Brett’s house) throughout Randy’s senior year. We became closer while competing together on the track team. While we didn’t date in high school, we did manage to make an impression on one another.
Fast forward seven years, we graduated college and somehow both ended up living in New York City, delighted to find one another again (thanks Nick!). Randy had been living in NYC for a year already when Carrie arrived so, ever the gentleman, he graciously took her under his wing and showed her around town (even introducing Carrie to her roommate, Chad). Suddenly our friendship was different. While it may have taken us nine years to discover that there was something more to the connection we shared, once we did it took us no time at all to plan that very first date at Shiller’s on August 2nd, 2006. We have celebrated every anniversary by recreating our first date (Randy wears the same outfit, Carrie gets a new dress!) and talking about all the great memories we made over the year.
Looking back on the years it was as if we were destined to find each other once again, and we’re so happy that we did!
