Labor Day is upon us; the unofficial last summer hurrah. And for us, it is a chance to bid summer a proper farewell with a wedding that embodies everything we love about those sunniest of months. From sun shining on shoulders to bare feet on the grass, outdoor lounging with friends and family and lots of love – it’s all packed into one gloriously beautiful wedding photographed by European photography duo M&J Photography. So before you head off to those cook outs and warm weathered soirees, take some time to enjoy the full gallery. It’s summer in a nutshell and we can’t think of a better Adieu.
From the Bride… With both of us originally being from the South of France, it was kind of expected that we would celebrate our wedding in the vineyards surrounding Bordeaux or in the beautiful Basque country. However, we really wanted our 85 guests (who were coming to stay from all over the world) to experience a little Canadian nature and get to know our new way of life in Quebec. We knew as soon as we found Fiddler Lake Resort that it was the perfect place to say “I do.” From the start, Christophe and I were very hands-on and made decisions together on everything from the color of his suit, to the type of lace used in the decor (of course, my dress remained a secret until the big moment!). For some months leading up to the wedding, Saturday was craft day, and we actually had great fun at home making the table decorations, props for the photo booth and sweet little favors for the guests. So, as you can imagine, we were delighted with the observations from our friends and family on the day — they thought our wedding was simple, elegant, fun and, most importantly to us, faithful to our image. All the right ingredients made it such a memorable day — the DIY decor, a ton of “joie de vivre” and, of course, a fabulous location!
