From the Bride... We had a rustic, Australian wedding nestled between the ocean and the vineyards south of Adelaide, South Australia, in beautiful Willunga. The ceremony was held in the open amongst the gum trees followed by the reception at the famous Russell's Pizza, which was within walking distance for all guests. Wood oven-fired pizzas and South Australian wine, beer and produce were served in the old barn surrounded by large festoon lanterns and vintage jars filled with flowers. Everything served was all from local produce, and everything down to the invitations was eco-friendly — the invitation paper was plantable to grow herbs and wildflowers. Everything was all done on a strict budget totaling $15,000. The flowers all came from a local lady who grows them in her backyard, and the cake was from a local bakery and topped with hand made little bouquet. The button holes all contained lavender as it is a remembrance flower. Guests were entertained with a photo booth and numerous props, as well as music hand-picked by bride and groom. The groom grew up on an apricot farm, so guests were given brown paper bags filled with homemade apricot balls. The bride and groom were driven in a Valient Pacer owned by a friend. The groom's son and daughter were in the wedding party, and the couple's dog, Milla, played a special part as well. The bridemaids wore locally-made silk dresses in a champagne pink color in two different styles with patent heels. The groomsmen wore charcoal suits with skinny black ties and lace-up shoes. The bride and groom danced their first dance to "The Ship Song" by Nick Cave. The bridal party got ready at the beautiful Willunga Bed and Breakfast after enjoying a champagne breakfast, and the groom's party had close shaves at the Glenelg Barber Shop followed by breakfast on the beach.
