From the Bride… Our wedding took place on Saturday August 27th, 2011 — the day of Hurricane Irene. We planned for a backyard wedding at my husband’s parents’ home in Sterling, Massachusetts. When we heard about the hurricane coming our way, we figured we would continue with our plan rain or shine. We are from NYC, and friends and family hiked all the way to Sterling to be with us on our special day (and sheltered down with us all weekend for an extended stay). We did a lot of DIY projects — the signs, flowers, decorations and invites. We are very proud of everything that took place during that amazing, unexpected weekend!
