Perth Wedding from Flower Talk

Oh so sweet is the name of this wedding's game. It's elegance in the purest of forms with a celebration of love for a couple that met on a dating site. How cool is that? We think very cool. And rain didn't stop these festivities in the slightest. With the prettiest of florals by Flower Talk and photography by Angela Higgins, there's plenty to mull over in the full gallery. Hop to it right here.

From the Bride... Walter and I met through the Australian dating site RSVP. My sister and her husband encouraged me to put a profile on RSVP, and after much debate and reluctance, I agreed. Walter contacted me almost immediately, and we would chat online a lot. His humor and intelligence resulted in some great jokes and conversations. Walter was still studying at the time, and I was apprehensive about dating a student, so I did not go on a date with him immediately. After a couple of weeks and chatting online daily, I thought I should give this guy a chance. Well, the rest speaks for itself — our first date lasted five hours. Walter was a true gentleman and still calls me "princess," even after three years together.

Walter proposed on our recent trip to Hong Kong in December 2011. We went to the Hong Kong foreshore to see the firework display and as it hit midnight, he starting saying, "This is going to be the best year..." When I turned around, he was on bended knee and asked me to marry him. Amongst the millions of people, no one even realized. It was a beautiful moment for just the two of us.

From Angela Higgins... Yiota and Walter were married on an unseasonably rainy day in April this year. With a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding witnessed by their closest family and friends, followed by a dinner reception with their immediate family, this couple has style and taste that is incomparable. The traditional ceremony was long but so interesting and touching to witness. In fact, the ceremony started at the end of the aisle from the moment Yiota and Walter first saw one another and went on as they progressed slowly down the aisle. One particularly memorable moment was having to completely change our plans for photographs in a nearby park when the heavens opened with rain. Fortunately Yiota’s brother welcomed us into his home that was nearby, and he allowed us to turn it into a great location for their photographs. When I look back on their wedding day it is hard to remember the unfortunate weather — instead I recall their happiness at finally being husband and wife!
