From Simply Jessie Photography... Jen wanted her event to feel warm and inviting but still elegant and romantic. She was particularly inspired by honey bees and beehives. Her paper goodies by Courtney Callahan Paper had a beehive-inspired pattern. She used a color palette of dark gray, yellow and white, which made for a country chic look. When the guests first arrived to the reception, they were greeted with place cards attached to honey dippers. The wedding favor was organic wildflower honey from a local honey bee farmer, and it tied the whole theme together.
From Heather of Greatest Expectations... We spent a great deal of time thinking about the best way to display the honey dippers and Kelly from Fleur Inc. suggested vintage drawers. We decided that sugar would be the perfect thing to put inside the drawers and hold up the dippers because it would sparkle and add a beautiful shimmer to the display. To our surprise, it took almost 150 pounds of sugar to fill those three drawers! We sprinkled crystals on top of the sugar for a little extra sparkle. From the beginning of wedding planning, Jen knew she wanted a wedding pie instead of traditional wedding cake. After our amazing talk with Dinah from Cheap Tart Bakery, we knew she was the right person for the job. Dinah recreated the pie cake several times to insure that it was perfect. The top layer was banana cream pie, just for the groom (that flavor was not served to anyone else).
