Lexington Wedding from Virgil Bunao Fine Art Weddings

What you are about to see is not only as sweet and charming as any good Southern wedding should be, it is also gorgeous as all get out. With yellow and grey details (a favorite, for sure) it’s casual yet stunning – and we love every moment captured by Virgil Bunao Fine Art Weddings. Love them all a lot. The gallery is filled with pure love, gentle smiles, and so much chic; it is THE place to be.

Kenyon and I met when he picked my roommate up for their first date. After that relationship didn’t work out, Kenyon had his eye on me- but I was dating someone else at the time. After several months of patiently waiting, Kenyon finally had the opportunity to ask me on a date. On our first date we learned that we have so much in common and that both of our parents live on Lake Murray, their houses just miles away from each other! We dated for a little less than a year before Kenyon proposed and I said yes!

It was very easy for us to decide that we wanted to be married at his parents’ home for an outdoor wedding- a special location for both of us. We were both concerned with the heat of August, so we decided to make it a more casual wedding.  I have always loved the colors grey and yellow, and they fit great with the casual, airy, summery feel. Kenyon really wanted for wedding party to be able to wear their outfits again, so we chose a simple strapless yellow dress by Jenny Yoo for the bridesmaids and grey linen pants and vest from JCrew for the groomsmen. I chose a dress that converted into a shorter cupcake-style for the reception- it was great for dancing and the warm weather!

I worked with Cricket Newman Designs to make our vision for the wedding come to life! White tents with italian lights, along with simple table designs with burlap, lanterns, and yellow flowers, created exactly the feel we were aiming for! One of our favorite memories was at the conclusion of the ceremony- Kenyon and I walked up the stairs and, after kissing me once again, he whistled for our black lab, Lucy, who then ran from out of the crowd and joined us! The guests erupted in laughter! Virgil took so many amazing photos of our wedding day, but my favorite is the black and white shot of us under the archway with the lights of the house all around us- its a stunning shot!
