From MLKL Photography… This styled shoot combines my passions for fashion and wedding photography. As a photographer, I don’t just shoot weddings, I work with my bride to dream up a wedding day completely unique to her style and passions, rendering photos that artfully represent what makes her day one of a kind. It’s all about personalization. And, in this shoot – it’s all about deer! Deer? Yes Dear, Deer!
In this shoot, the bride is a passionate advocate of animal rights, stemming from a great love for all things mammal — and, most of all, deer. As a refined, classic bride with an uncanny appreciation for high fashion and the avante garde, she boldly integrates artful gestures of her animal affection throughout her wedding day. With antler earring studs, a painted deer cake topper hand carved from white-chocolate by the very talented Elegantly Iced, and a stunning antler head piece in place of a veil (beautifully adorned with flowers by the Brooklyn boutique Graceful Gardens), she tastefully creates a day unique to her style and her passion. Everything was photographed in Long Island City’s stunning venue, The Foundry, this summer.
The beauty of a deer antler was the inspiration for much of this shoot. In addition to their incredible shape, the symbolism proves intriguing. While antlers are typically found mostly on male deer, it is known that some species of does have the capacity to produce antlers during periods of fertility. Being that antlers are naturally shed by the deer and have a long history of ornamental use, this animal advocate naturally selected antlers to be her main tribute to the deer throughout her wedding day inspiration.
