Searching for your soul mate may be as easy as looking on your own street, at least it was for this sweet couple. After 10 years of knowing each other these love birds tied the knot at Athol Hall and lucky for us, the entire day was captured beautifully by Welsch Photography. I am obsessing over the rich colors in the Plumbago Flowers arrangements and light touches of vintage pieces throughout the event. Be sure to head over to the full gallery for more!

From the Bride… Matt and I have known each other since we were 16 — our families lived on the same street. After 10 years, Matt proposed while we were on a holiday for a family wedding in Darwin. We were visiting Kakadu National Park and had made a short climb to the top of a spectacular lookout over the floodplain and escarpments close to sunset. Matt turned me while we were sitting at the edge of the lookout and asked me to marry him.
Our wedding day was the most magical day. We had the ceremony and cocktail-style reception at Athol Hall in Sydney Harbour National Park. The cocktail-style reception appealed to us as we wanted to spend as much as the evening as possible chatting and dancing without the formalities of a sit-down dinner. The weather was brilliant, and the setting was relaxed while our family and friends sipped champagne on the lawn with the Sydney Jazz Collective playing on the verandah. We made a lot of the wedding decorations ourselves and went for a vintage, rustic feel. We made vases and candles for the tables from recycled jars and lace, we decorated the menu cards for the tables with brown string and lace, and we made lolly bags with sweet treats for our family and friends. I also made the hair piece that I wore on the day. We hadn’t planned to do a bridal waltz, but just before we had the speeches, the singer from the band came and told us that they’d learned one of our favorite songs, ‘This Old Love’ by Lior — dancing to this song was such an amazing and unexpected moment.
