Vancouver Wedding Celebration by Jamie Delaine

A brunch at The Teahouse in Stanley Park to celebrate their love and a homemade masterpiece that is oh-so-adorable! This bride has covet-worthy DIY skills that are simply off the charts. She made the fabric flower centerpieces, the groom's cufflinks and boutonniere, her own veil, the invitations, menus, guest book - I mean the list goes on and on, culminating in her 5am wake up call on the day of her wedding to bake the DESSERTS! Wow, wow, wow. Check out her wedding creations in the full gallery of photos, courtesy of Jamie Delaine.

From the Bride... These photos are actually the second celebration of our two-part wedding. Part one was the actual ceremony and reception with only immediate family and a few best friends that was held in Hong Kong, and this second part was a celebration with the other important people in our lives halfway around the world who couldn't attend the Hong Kong wedding. It was held at The Teahouse in the gorgeous Stanley Park in Vancouver, British Columbia. We initially wanted to have one big wedding but all of our family is back in Asia and all of our friends from college, university and work are in Vancouver, so we decided it would be much easier to have two people flying back and forth around the world than 40.

The wedding was inspired by all the DIY weddings I've read about in wedding blogs and magazines such as Green Wedding Shoes, Style Me Pretty, Martha Stewart Wedding, Love and Lavender, etc. My husband, Roy, and I didn't want a cookie cutter wedding — we wanted something that was special, memorable and that spoke of us. What could be more you than DIY, right? We spent a year and a half planning our DIY dream wedding and within that 547 days, it was non-stop DIY every day. I made our fabric flower centerpieces, the signs, my veil and hair piece, my bouquet, Roy's boutonniere and cufflinks, save-the-dates, invitations, menus, the guest book and photo booth backdrop. I even woke up at 5 a.m. on the wedding day to bake the desserts.

We were completely thrilled to see our wedding vision come to life, thanks to some of our dear friends who helped us with the decoration and set up. We were so happy to spend a wonderful afternoon with all of our closest friends. The day before the wedding, it was pouring all day and night, but we were very blessed to have the sun shining for the entire time of the celebration (and then it rained again as soon as we got home).
