From the Bride... What we really wanted was for everyone to feel welcomed and at ease — as if they were just stopping in to say hey in our home. We chose decor, attire, and even not-so-fancy grub that would bring a warm and relaxed feeling to the day. Everything used in the wedding was owned by me; my maid of honor, Tara; and a couple other people who love antiques as much as we do. Each piece has it's own story, but I think I especially loved that my grandmother donated her typewriter for part of the decor. I handmade the invitations, table numbers and the programs, as well as each favor — hair pieces and bow ties.

Don't let yourself get crazy. Stay relaxed and enjoy what you're planning for your special day. To other DIY brides out there, START EARLY. The last couple of weeks should be fun and exciting — you don't want to be doing any projects last minute unless you have to!
