Burbank DIY Wedding from Alders Photography

The weddings that often put the biggest smiles on our faces are the ones that filled from the tippy top to the very bottom with so much personality. The weddings where guests walk in and think “Oh my goodness, this is so them.” The weddings that give us a little peek into the personalities of the two lovebirds. And when the images are coming from Alders Photography, that might just push it a little further in the extra big smile direction. Click here for all of this fun soiree!

We met through a dating website, hit it off immediately and have been inseparable since. I adore the last scene in Breakfast at Tiffany’s where Paul proposes to Holly by leaving a ring in the taxi. Jase proposed to me in his car and once he recited, “I love you. You belong to me.” while holding the ring box, I immediately hugged him tightly with joy! It was Jase’s special way of proposing to me.

We wanted to keep the ceremony and reception areas close together for convenience since our family members were traveling from out of town. Calamigos provided a ceremony space and ballroom that next to each other. The garden area with a rock waterfall was the ideal place for us to exchange vows.

We chose fun, whimsical, light pastel colors like blush pink, champagne, yellow, tiffany blue and cream that would work well esthetically with the terrace/garden area for our ceremony.

Jase & I chose the theme, “You’ve Got Mail” for our wedding. We crafted mailboxes for our table numbers, garlands displaying lines from the movie, paper roses used for décor in the cocktail area, place card holders and cake. Our friend who is an artist helped create box characters as our cake toppers.

The officiant personalised our ceremony by incorporating lines from You’ve Got Mail. I’ll always remember walking down the aisle with my parents. My parents taught me how to love, the value of integrity and they are the reason why I found a man with a good heart. Dancing to Moon River with my father is another favorite memory

My best advice is not to worry about the small stuff. Jase and I budgeted well and cut down our guest list so we didn’t have any incidental expenses to worry about. We had missed a few details but we had the most perfect wedding day. It didn’t matter if there were little mishaps during the day because at the end of the night, it was just Jase and I and we were happy.
