From Kate Ignatowski Photography... This small and intimate outdoor bridal shower tea party was designed by Sandra Zwick of Fresh Event Design using natural and rustic decor. Sandra kept the large, outdoor, wooden picnic table simple so the eight guests had plenty of room to dine. She used a white table cloth with a table runner made of burlap and white lace on the table and added two round mirrors to set the flower arrangements. Sandra set up the "sipping station" with a burlap table cloth, added fresh-cut lemons to the glass pitcher of lemonade, tied double strands of twine in bows around her hand-painted, recycled wine bottles and set the tea bags in vintage-style boxes that were shaped like old, antique books. She laid hand-cut pink and white roses in another book-style box and set a vanilla-scented candle in a glass hurricane on an old, antique suitcase. She included an accent of cinnamon and used twine and wooden pegs to hang the "LOVE" banner on the vines. The banner letters were printed on 220 gsm drawing paper and adhered to brown gift tags from Remedy, a small boutique shop in Western Australia. The drawing paper and gift tags were also used for the "Love is Brewing" sign and the menus, which had the added touch of a small strand of decorative paper leftover from the invitations. The invitations were designed in Photoshop, printed on thicker 300 gsm drawing paper and wrapped in the decorative paper with a thick, dark red, rustic ribbon. Assorted vintage tea cups, pots, cake stands and accented glass serving dishes were borrowed from friends and all the food was homemade and arranged on the buffet table. I printed the food descriptions on the 220 gsm drawing paper, and Sandra accented the table with an antique, wooden herb box filled with pots.

Lisa will be married in her home town of Belfast, Ireland, in August. The group of girls attending the shower are other expats from the UK and the US, all living abroad in Australia. As shower gifts, we each gave her an individual tea cup and plate set since she loves drinking tea and we wanted her to have a special collection to remember us.
