All you vintage loving brides, this one’s for you! This beyond gorgeous photo shoot by Paperlily Photography is all you need to begin planning your vintage inspired wedding. Chock full of pretty, pretty details like the amazing ombre cake and oh-so-gorgeous dress by Fabulous Frocks of Atlanta. There’s inspiration for days and days right here in the full gallery!
From Paperlily Photography… The backdrop for our shoot was admittedly a bit unusual, as it is a historic cemetery in Macon, Georgia. Having grown up in the small town myself, I knew firsthand just how beautiful the grounds could be in the spring. The whole place comes alive with little micro bursts of color and life. Everything from the rolling stream that flows through the hillside, down to the train tracks that surround the grounds, make the place feel less eerie and more enchanted. We waited for the small window of time that the cherry blossoms were in full effect to schedule our shoot, and that was where we drew our color palette of shades of pink. Because the location has such a naturally beautiful aesthetic, we went with a “less is more” approach for our styling, so we carefully chose each small detail to go with our whimsical vision. We immediately thought of Four Inch Fold Vintage Rentals to help stage the scene, and we just had a field day with all of the beautiful treasures Mao had to offer from her studio — the pink bike, the vintage china, rustic table and chairs, glass milk bottles, old books, drawers and so much more! Cindy from Blooming Flour Bakery is a cake genius, and we just knew that she could master the pink tiered cake we had in mind (and of course she did), and the cupcakes with edible sugar flowers were a beautiful bonus (and so delicious)! Leslie from Southern Stems has never let us down in the floral department, as she always knows how to bring our vision to life. We just love everything she puts together, and this was no exception. Our invitation suite was found on Etsy at a shop called Beacon Lane. We emailed Jessica, told her our idea, and she put together this amazing suite and even customized it with the bride and groom’s real names. When the box arrived in the mail, I literally gasped as I unpacked every beautiful layer of the invitation.
For our real bride and groom (they actually got married a month after our shoot), we wanted them to have a very romantic-bohemian look, which was executed flawlessly by our favorite hair and makeup artist, Claudia Mejerle. She is amazing at what she does and is so in touch with what is trendy and flattering. To complete their look, we were fortunate enough to have Fabulous Frocks of Atlanta loan Anna, our bride, a stunning Anne Barge dress. It fit like it was made for her right off of the hanger! And Jordan, our handsome groom, was wearing a tailored suit from H&M with vintage shoes we scored at a thrift store! We couldn’t resist dressing Anna and Jordan up in a second, more casual look for a few extra snaps, and with Anna in another vintage find from our local thrift store and dressing down Jordan’s suit pants with a cardigan over a simple white tee. Last but not least, Corrie Kirk, of Signature Weddings & Events, beautifully coordinated and executed all of our ideas into a gorgeous reality. We can’t thank her enough for always keeping us on task and for her willingness to jump in and fill any need. We couldn’t do it without you!
