Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a beautifully sophisticated wedding comes your way by Tricia Koning Photography and takes things to an entirely new level. LOLA Event Productions enhanced the glamour of The University Club of Chicago remarkably, with clean linens and modernly fresh arrangements by A Stem Above. Chicago has never looked better and neither could this stunning gallery of images.
From the Bride… Our inspiration was traditional with a modern twist. We definitely wanted to ensure our personalities were reflected throughout the day. It was all the little details that really made the day ours: Josh’s IU cufflinks, my mom surprising us with a vintage poster depicting the date and location that was displayed at the entrance of the library for cocktail hour, the sign the flower girls walked in with, the Chuck Taylors worn by the ring bearers, the mix-and-match bridesmaid dresses, my bouquet including photo charms of my grandparents’ wedding pictures, etc. We wanted to create a unique, warm, inviting and fun day for our guests.
For the ceremony, we wanted our families to be an important part of the occasion to build upon and celebrate our backgrounds. It was important for us to acknowledge the people who had shaped our lives and were there to celebrate the start of our lives together. We chose the University Club because we loved the tradition of the club and the classic, old-world charm. The club offered so many unique rooms that could be utilized throughout the weekend. We used the library for cocktail hour to give our guests an intimate atmosphere with a great view of Millennium Park and the Art Institute, and then we ventured into Cathedral Hall to surprise our guests with cascading ceilings and ornate details throughout.
