White Wedding Photo Shoot by Momental Designs

White is my favorite color. Simple as that. Now before you call me boring, let me clarify. I love layers. Layers and layers of texture and hues of that simple shade. Thats when that non-color color begins to tell a beautiful story. And when Momental DesignsSweet and Saucy Shop and Jill Thomas Photography are the artists telling that story, it’s going to be pretty. Bottom line. And this shoot is the perfect proof – but you don’t have to take my word for it, the gorgeous story unfolds right here!

From Kristy Rice of Momental DesignsThe overall inspiration for this photo shoot was a modern take on white lace, mingled with flower paintings inspired by iconic art of Georgia O’Keeffe. Lace, traditionally associated with classically romantic sensibilities is given a youthful, unfussy makeover. Original sketches of crocheted, Alencon and Chantilly laces were used to print a suite of paper details. Each piece featured thick, white ink painted on sophisticated, shimmering cardstock and sleek plexiglass. As a stationery artist who loves color, I challenged myself and the team to limit the color palette but still deliver loads of artful inspiration and personality. Using tactile painting techniques, uncommon materials and highly edited decor, we accomplished our goals. Finding a way to create drama and warmth with an all white color palette was the highlight of this theme. Our bride adores simple elegance but still loves to make a bold statement. She relishes in the smallest details and thoughtful textures. “The White Calico Flower” by Georgia O’Keeffe is among her favorite pieces of fine art.

Highlights of the shoot were the contrasting textures combined throughout paper goods; plexi and vintage cut glass, raw silk fabric and sleek papers, graphic lace sketches and lofty blooms paintings; the all-white palette surrounded by the warmth of The Grand del Mar; sketched lace paper table runner and ghost chair liners; an all-white cake with hand crafted ruffles and asymmetrical blooms; a seating plan crafted of hanging plexiglass panels painted with a garden of white blooms and suspended over a bed of fresh white florals; and a bouquet crafted entirely of paper blooms, velvet findings, silver-dipped lace and meticulously molded “ribbon” made of lace-patterned paper.
