From the Bride... We were married at my family's cattle property, Traveston Park, which 20 minutes north of Noosa. We chose to be married under an old tree overlooking the property, the mountains and the cattle yards. A completely unplanned moment was when our dog, Juddy, walked all the way across the grass and up the aisle with my Dad and I. It was so nice to have him by my side and a part of it! After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks on lawn of the ceremony and then entered the reception venue at cocktail hour. With a huge amount of courage and help, we turned the six bay working farm shed was into a reception venue over a VERY busy six-month period (We lived at the farm for a month leading up to the wedding!). Our entire reception venue was constructed by Chris, my dad and a lot of helpers. Chris built the bar, the outdoor lounge suite, painted the floor and hung lights — you name it, he did it! The venue was relaxed, elegant, fresh and fun, complete with a custom made Traveston Park ranch-themed bar! We had a stand-up, cocktail-style reception.
Green, white and natural timbers and linens were the colour scheme. Using the stunning backdrop of the farm, we chose the round, seated tables with apple tower centerpieces and long timber trestle tables with an eclectic mix of cut crystal vases filled with mix of white flowers, such as white lisianthus, freesia, spray roses, double tulips and baby's breath. We used hessian/burlap runners and also natural linen overlays with apple green table cloths. The cocktail lounge areas featured white Barcelona settings, timber lounges, hay bales and lots and lots of cushions. We used a massive arrangement of magnolia leaves in the centre of the room. The candy buffet was themed in green and white with brown paper lolly bags. Traveston Park Ranch Bar was its own sideshow — really, the pictures do all the talking!
Enjoy every moment of your wedding, and include personal touches so you really feel it is all about you and your husband!
