I freely admit that I am one of San Diego’s biggest fans and it’s not just because of weather. All sunny beaches aside, it is this awesome little spot on the west coast with the loveliest infusion of all things Mexico. Great food, beautiful architecture and margaritas worth a plane ticket home just to guzzle. So you know when this Coronado beauty from We Heart Photography landed in submissions, I scooped it up and instantly began plotting its SMP debut. It’s papel picado, beautiful succulent filled florals and a backdrop that only San Diego could provide. See it all right here!
From Kimberly Orias, Wedding Coordinator + Floral Designer… The boats docked in the harbor under the famous Coronado bay were the perfect backdrop for Hector and Jenny’s wedding day, which was the perfect blend of old, rustic, Spanish elegance and modern details. The inspiration for the day came from a mix of the bride’s style and the desire to honor the groom’s heritage. From the vintage lace table cloth that adorned the dessert table to the wooden boxes that held the centerpieces, the day was full of different textiles and textures. The bride was stunning in her lace gown and cathedral-length, lace-trimmed veil, and her bridesmaids wore lovely gray dresses by J.Crew. Both were the perfect canvas for the beautiful coral yellow and white flowers. A fresh Mexican buffet and live meringue music and dancing made the reception feel like a true celebration. The succulents in pinto beans, flower-filled mugs that spelled “amor,” and papel picado (Mexican wedding flags) that hung on the sweetheart table were the perfect way to celebrate the groom’s heritage. Hector’s beautiful toast to his new bride was truly one of the most special moments of the evening. It was a beautiful celebration honoring family and friends — the perfect start to Jenny and Hector’s life together.
