Downtown Chicago Engagement Session by Cristina G Photography
As a Windy City native myself, I have a soft spot in my wedding-loving heart for an engagement shoot that showcases Chicago. With the help of Cristina G Photography, this sweet couple got their photo on at some of the most iconic spots in the Second City (well, the first city in my opinion)! From the Bride-to-Be... As corny as it sounds, I've always believed that everything happens for a reason. Peter and I actually worked together via email for a few months prior to even meeting in person! In the summer of 2009, I was a summer intern at a Chicago law firm. At the same time, Peter worked at the law firm as a project assistant. We emailed each other numerous times throughout the summer because Peter was assisting me with a project, but we never met face to face. That same summer, I often saw a handsome blonde guy at the law firm's fitness center where I worked out, at the time not realizing it was Peter the project assistant. The summer ended, and the school year at Northwestern University School of Law began shortly thereafter. I was stunned to see the same blonde guy working out at the gym near the law school. I thought to myself, "This guy is gym stalking me!" We finally put two and two together and realized who the other person was when we officially met through Northwestern's Social Committee, where I was the co-chair and Peter was a new member. A few weeks later, Peter came to a party that I invited him to, and we have been an item ever since.
From the moment we began planning our wedding, Peter and I knew our special day would be centered around the most amazing city in the world: Chicago! Peter was born and raised in Chicago, and I am a converted Chicagoan after moving here five years ago. For our engagement shoot, we wanted to capture some of Chicago's most beautiful scenery, such as the skyline at sunset, the unique architecture in some of the downtown hotels, and of course the famous Chicago Theater on State Street. Being the perfectionist that I am, I wanted out outfits for the photo shoot to be perfect, so we worked with a wonderfully helpful stylist from Nordstrom, Deanna Poneman. Our photographer, Cristina G, is incredibly talented and was able to capture everything we wanted: a chic, yet romantic and slightly sexy engagement session in the great city of Chicago.
