Brisbane Culinary Engagement Session by Studio Impressions Photography
There is one thing that my husband and I LOVE to spend our evenings together doing and that's cooking. We crack open a bottle of red, crank up the tunes and create our own little dinner masterpieces and it's heaven. After looking at this adorable session from Marcus of Studio Impressions Photography, I see that we are not alone in our pursuit of coupled cooking. These two have taken that love and crafted an engagement session around it making for some of the most beautiful images. Ones that catch them doing their normal day to day just in really cute clothes and at the hands of an amazing photographer. See them all right here!
From the Bride-to-Be... Scott and I met through one of my best friends, Tamara. She worked with Scott at an accountancy firm here on the Gold Coast. We had met a couple of times through their work functions and starting dating in the spring of 2008.
Scott absolutely surprised me with his proposal. For his 25th birthday, I organised a trip for us to Queenstown, New Zealand, to go skiing and snowboarding. Towards the end of the trip, we went for a ride on the Skyline Gondola up in the Ben Lomond Reserve Park to see the beautiful views of The Remarkables mountains. On the way back down in the gondola, he got down on one knee and proposed. By the time we reached the bottom, I was in complete shock, and he had to help me off and back to our hotel!
I had seen many engagement shoots on various website and blogs that were taken on the beach or in a park, and while they all looked gorgeous, I knew that these were not settings that Scott and I would be comfortable having photos taken in. One of my favourite things to do is cook, and since we had been living together, we both enjoyed cooking fabulous meals (and eating them too!). The engagement shoot was a lot of fun. At first we were a bit nervous, but then it just felt like we were cooking in our kitchen at home (even with Scott mucking around putting sauce on my face because that usually happens too!). I was inspired by the opening credits of Masterchef; the contestants all looked so happy in each of the kitchen settings, so I thought it would be a great idea for our engagement shoot. Marcus suggested James Street Cooking School to us — being from the Gold Coast, we weren't too familiar with Brisbane. When we went and saw it though, we knew it was going to be the perfect place. The red wine also has some significance for us. I could never even take a sip of red wine until Scott used to share his with me, and I grew to love it too.
