Montreal Wedding at Barroco by davina + daniel
I fall head over heels for a new wedding (or ten) every.single.day here on SMP, but I can honestly say I have never been more in love than I am right here-right now with this breathtaking Montreal soiree. Maybe that's because it's everything I secretly dream my own Big Day to be - a magical, candlelit setting, glamorous touches of black and gold and sooo much love, it's downright amazing. The ever-fabulous davina + daniel captured every glorious moment and, believe me, the gallery is where you NEED to be. Join me there for more.
From the Bride... Our wedding day was inspired by the people and places that have inspired us. We wanted to keep it small and simple, sharing our love with those who have loved and supported us over the past 10 years. We always knew that we didn't want a cookie-cutter wedding. We ditched a lot of traditions and incorporated more of our favourite things. As we both tend to shy away from the spotlight, an intimate dinner suited us well. We love Spain, and each time we go we leave a piece of our heart there. Everything fell into place once we found Barroco, a charming Spanish restaurant in Old Montreal — it was exactly what we envisioned. We served Spanish staples including sangria, serrano ham and family-style pans of paella. Paying homage to Ryan's maritime roots and the delicious seafood of the east coast, we had Atlantic oysters and lobster. In honour of our beloved rabbit, a donation was made in lieu of favours to the Vancouver Rabbit Rescue and Advocacy, an incredible organization that we have been privileged to volunteer with.
Looking back, the day feels like a dream. We're so fortunate to have had the amazingly talented photographer couple, davina + daniel, capture our memories. They went above and beyond. The day was filled with so many incredible moments, but if I had to choose my top three they would be ... seeing Ryan for the first time and him holding me tight; my dad's speech, which was so heartfelt and perfect; and the sweet poems written by Ryan's aunts and uncles that warmed our hearts. The love and laughter that surrounded us that day will be forever cherished. We are so grateful for everyone who was part of it.
