From the Bride… Geoff and I wanted an intimate wedding with our family and close friends, so we had about 55 guests celebrating with us on our big day. Our goal was to have a small but quality wedding, adorned with intricate details and unforgettable food. Because of my Euro-vintage style and gravitation toward all things Anthropologie, I decided on a theme that involved elements of nature, doves and bird cages. With that theme in mind, everything came together — from our mini birdcage centerpieces to our wedding cake frosted with a lace design and topped with stamped alphabet blocks. As for our wedding colors, the purple-taupe color I chose was hard to describe to most vendors. I got the color inspiration from Sally Hansen’s “Commander in Chic” and basically carried the nail polish bottle around in my purse for six months of wedding planning so that I could whip it out whenever someone had trouble understanding the exact shade of purple I wanted for our wedding. I coupled the purple-taupe with shades of beige and champagne, and that became the color palette for the wedding. Even though the process of waiting for all the details to fall into place was difficult, especially sans wedding planner, when the wedding day came, I realized that every bit of effort paid off.
