Vancouver Wedding at Brock House Restaurant by Lucida Photography

What’s white, feathered and dripping in gorgeous? That would be this Vancouver wedding. It’s hands down, one of my favorites to date featured in our Fashion & Beauty Mag in all its feathered glory. And it’s ALL about the pillow fight with this beauty or maybe the down aisle or quite possibly the stunning images by Lucida Photography. I can’t really pick a favorite part. Just know that this is a smidgen of the beauty to be found in the full gallery and in the Feather Me Fabulous feature.

From the Bride… Mark was my childhood crush, and 10 years after we met we finally started dating. Four years later came the wedding day. We got married at The Brock House in Vancouver, British Columbia. It was my dream to get married outside with the most amazing view of the ocean, and with all our family being from the prairies, we knew the setting would be a hit. Being pretty easy-going people, we wanted the wedding to have the same feel. The wedding took place at 11 a.m., so guests arrived to a table of serve-yourself mimosas. There were also baskets with blankets for the people who needed a little warmth by the water and flip-flops for those who wanted to play in the sand.

The wedding was done in my favorite color: white, white and more white. The only flowers at the wedding were the ones that I was holding and the baby’s breathe that the bridesmaids held. The rest of the décor was done with feathers and candles. My favorite touch was the white feather aisle — we used a whole lot of down pillows to get the “walking on a cloud” effect. Being the owner of a dessert company, the dessert was obviously a very important factor, so at the end of lunch guest got to indulge in an all-white dessert table with over 20 different types of desserts. Throughout the wedding guest were able to go have funny pictures taken in the photographer’s photo booth, which added a great touch and allowed the guests to, for lack of better words, “get silly.”

The day ended on such a fun and high note. Our save-the-dates were Mark and I having a pillow fight, so to bring it all together, we decided to not do the traditional wedding party photos but instead have a little wedding party fun. We took over a parking lot and had one giant pillow fight. And to follow Mark’s family’s Sunday night tradition, we all had Sunday hotdog dinner that night.
