Now take a looksy at a wedding film by Hi-Society Productions infused with a whopping heap of cool. It fits this whimsical wedding to a T.

From the Bride… The day I got married to Jeff was the best day of my life. Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Jeff, our families and friends seated together in a room filled with light and color – the emotion and happiness I felt at that moment was greater than I could have ever imagined! The journey to get to that moment was filled with weekends hot gluing fabric to hula hoops, scouring flea markets for bottles, and pretty much spending all of my free time on the wedding. Our 400 square foot apartment was filled to the brim with ribbons, bits of tissue paper all over the floor and strands of garland that I had to hang on our walls to avoid wrinkling. Sometimes when I would tell people some of the things I was doing for the wedding, they would look at me like I was crazy – and at times they may have been right. Planning a wedding for 150 guests with big DIY dreams and a limited budget is not easy! But it is possible!

First of all, we gave ourselves a lot of time (about a year and a half) to plan. We spent about a month looking for the perfect indoor venue (did not want to chance it with the weather) that could accommodate at least 150 people, was located in or around Philadelphia (where most of our guests were from) and was BYOB (we saved money by purchasing our own). Most importantly, we wanted a venue that was unique and would give us the freedom to go crazy with our decorations. We found that at a factory turned artist studio/loft space called Reading Art Works in Reading, Pennsylvania, that was like a modern and rustic blank canvas. The owner was excited about our ideas and agreed to let us set up days before the wedding. He even let us use his giant white window for our ceremony backdrop. After spending months of pinning and bookmarking weddings on blogs, we decided on the big “ideas” for our wedding décor – bright pops of corals, peaches, yellows, metallics and neon that would stand out in a white space, lots of old bottles filled with flowers, paper garlands, and some sort of streamers, ribbons, or lace that could hang from or across the ceiling to make a huge impact. We never had a set theme — we just wanted the space to look whimsical, fun and be a reflection of us!

The end result was everything we hoped it would be and more, and thanks to our amazing DJs (who also did our cinematography — a surprise last minute gift for Jeff), we hardly left the dance floor. I have so many wonderful memories, but one of my absolute favorites was during our last song, “All my Friends” by LCD Soundsystem. It’s about how life goes by so quickly and it’s the time you spend with the people you love that matters most. Everyone piled onto the dance floor — even the wallflowers — and we were dancing like we’d never dance again. As the song came to an end, the lights started to come on and Jeff and I were lifted up in the air, surrounded by family and friends below, singing the last lines on repeat — If I could see all my friends tonight, If I could see all my friends tonight… It was the perfect end to the best day ever.
