A brunch wedding that starts off with monogrammed, chambray shirt wearing bridesmaids all in a row is bound to be a delightful celebration indeed. One that takes the pretty surroundings of Farmers Branch Historical Park and infuses the intimate backyard-esque details crafted by Picture Perfect Day Wedding Planning & Event Design into one whole-heartedly beautiful affair. And we have Jenny McCann’s photography to bring all that joy to life; one pretty image at a time. See it right here!
From the Bride… Our vision was simple — we wanted our day to be an intimate affair that represented Michael and me, our families, our Texas upbringing, and of course, a few of our favorite things. We wanted our guests to celebrate and have a nostalgic day in the park with us! Michael grew up in Farmers Branch and visited this park a lot as a child. Also, Michael’s good friend, youth minister, and mentor Rick Briscoe officiated, which made our celebration even more intimate. The cotton represented my hometown of Ennis, Texasm and it was all handpicked in the fall. Succulents and herbs for arrangements, boutonnieres, and bouquets were all picked from my garden. All of the silver serving pieces belonged to Michael’s family and were well over 100 years old. We had all of our favorite games at the wedding, including Scrabble, bingo, Monopoly, poker, Clue and more from over the years. Music was played at the reception by our good friend Daron Fuller, and the cakes were made by a friend, Mary Ann Manrodt. The cake serving pieces and picture frames were used at several family weddings in the past and the china and champagne glasses were picked up at countless thrift shops along the way. Brunch and champagne are two of our favorite things, so a biscuit bar and champagne bar were only fitting! Some of the DIY crafts included: letters covered in book pages to hang on the church doors, chalkboard labels, 2,000 paper hearts to scatter down the church aisle, church confetti, crossword puzzles for each place setting, fabric flower garlands, decorated mason jars for flower arrangements, decorated clothing pins to hang pictures on our “Family Tree,” the biscuit bar sign, bride and groom burlap signs, and birdseed pouches. This wedding was a collaborative effort by everyone there; we truly have the most wonderful family and friends!
