From the Bride… Paying it forward was probably the unspoken goal at our wedding. Marty and I met at an engagement party for our mutual friend, Caitlin, and Caitlin had met her husband, Mark, at a wedding. We were hopeful that someone would meet their future spouse at our wedding. So we brought our closest friends and family together for a weekend in Healdsburg and kept our fingers crossed. Healdsburg offers so much to do that entertaining our guests wasn’t hard — vineyards, great restaurants and outdoor activities — and we tried to make sure that the wedding events did the same. From the Friday night welcome party through the Sunday brunch, we wanted to create a relaxed, fun atmosphere with amazing food and drinks that celebrated Sonoma and Northern California. We were incredibly lucky to work with Rosemary Hattenbach and Nicole Sillapere, who designed three perfect events that reflected our personalities and made us and our guest feel at home all weekend. In the end, despite our best efforts, there were no marriage matches made during the weekend, but the weekend received rave reviews from our family and friends.
From Rosemary Hattenbach of Rosemary Events… This couple and family is near and dear to my heart, having planned Jordan’s sister’s wedding eight years ago in Santa Barbara. The wedding was just as they are … elegant, understated and so much fun. The ceremony was sweet and heartfelt. The ring bearer, Jordan’s nephew, didn’t let a broken leg stop him from his duties … he captured many hearts arriving in a fedora with the rings in a little wood wagon pulled by his Dad and sporting an orange cast that complimented the color scheme. The couple exited to an instrumental version of “Such Great Heights” by the Postal Service (performed by Ever Music Group). A cocktail hour followed the ceremony. Guests mingled, played lawn games and sampled amazing bites by Componere Fine Catering while taking in the sweeping views of Chalk Hill Estate. A few minutes before guests were ready to head over to dinner, Marty surprised everyone with a skywritten message to his bride: M (hearts) J. Very sweet!
Guests enjoyed a beautiful wine country meal on top of the hill at Chalk Hill Estate in a beautiful sailcloth Zephyr tent. Picking up on the bride’s love for gorgeous textiles, Nicole Sillapere crafted a tailored design for the event, which incorporated a stylish Galbraith & Paul linen fabric, custom sewn and letterpressed paper details, glorious white peonies and natural sea grass flooring. The couple kicked off the fun with a dance to Wilco’s “California Stars.” After dinner, father of the bride gave a very sweet toast to his daughter and shared a Jordan cabernet (the vintage was also Jordan’s birth year). They had been saving it in their wine cellar in anticipation that it would one day be enjoyed at Jordan’s wedding. Guests wrote their well wishes to the couple on the two imperial-sized bottles of the same wine. The bottles were sent to an engraver to have the sentiments permanently etched after the wedding. Guests savored the delicious meal prepared by chef Ethan Mantle and his team and the cake by Perfect Endings. Then they had a blast dancing to the sounds of Black Market Jazz Orchestra under the chic custom light fixtures created by Sillapere in their signature fabric. Guests enjoyed the amazing entertainment and stellar views. Cigars and Jamaican rum on the deck were a bit hit. As the evening came to a close, Componere passed mini tacos, while guests sent Jordan and Marty off in grand fashion through a sea of waving ribbon streamers. The following morning, the couple said their goodbyes at a brunch on the green at Hotel Healdsburg.
