Home is where the heart is and right now my heart is with this adorable backyard wedding by Elizabeth Lloyd Photography. First of all, I’m moving to Rhode Island and then I’m going to marry this wedding. Eventfully Planned did an impeccable job of blending elements of home with chic, fresh touches making this an event that is lovable, thoughtful and fun. From Elizabeth Lloyd Photography… Katharine and Alex are two writers from Brooklyn, but they knew they wanted to have their wedding at Katharine’s family summer home on Narragansett Bay in Tiverton, Rhode Island. They also knew they wanted a fun, casual, and very individualistic wedding — one that expressed who they were as couple. They were married on the dock while friends and family watched from shore; their officiant, a family friend of Alex’s, read the poem “Erat Hora” by Ezra Pound. After they were married, they and their seventy guests circulated throughout the house and grounds for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Due to the small size of the locale, tables were set up throughout the space, making it feel as if each new room and garden held a different surprise. At sunset, Alex and Katharine returned to the dock for their first dance (to The Vibrators’ “Baby Baby”) while their guests watched their moving silhouettes from shore. Dinner was a series of stations, including one catered by Katharine’s favorite Vietnamese restaurant from college. Finally, following a few brief toasts, the dancing commenced. Those who didn’t dance stood watching, perched over the two balconies that overlook the water, others went swimming — and later, skinny-dipping — off the end of the dock. The festivities continued until two in the morning, when the last bus departed for nearby Providence.
