Why is it that every California wedding instantly makes me want to pack my bags and head for those beautiful hills? Something about the laidback elegance. And the dreamy sunsets. The kind of weddings that feel so entirely effortless and yet so exquisitely crafted you can hardly believe they are real. As is the case with this next wedding photographed flawlessly by This Love of Yours Photography, who recently packed up those very bags and are now bringing their photography genius to the sunny state of California. Lucky ducks. Ok, so here we go. Just don’t forget to check the gallery as there are loads more details tucked inside!
From the Bride… With only a couple of months to plan the wedding, my number one tip would be to reach out to friends and family to help you plan your wedding and find your vendors. One of our friends, who is just getting into the wedding industry, helped coordinate our wedding. Also our cinematographer and caterer came from recommendations from my mother’s friends. The more help you can get to plan your wedding, the more you will be able to enjoy the process. One vendor we found ourselves was our photographer, This Love of Yours… Photography. Their photos take my breath away and bring me back to my wedding day. I am amazed on how they were able to capture our day so beautifully.
The second tip would be to find your wedding venue as soon as possible. Adam and I went to over ten different locations and researched hundreds more. There were so many venues that I ended up making a chart outlining each venue and our top priorities. Adam and I narrowed down our top priorities, which included: being able to hold 150-200 guests, being in close proximity to our home in the Bay Area, being able to have the reception until midnight, being able to have liquor not just wine, and being within our budget. After many visits to different venues and several hours of research to find our perfect venue, I stumbled upon the website for Estate Wedding and Events, where we found Caballo Estate. Caballo Estate is a charming equestrian stable set on 10 pristine acres in the beautiful Los Altos Hills. It met all of our venue requirements, and the second Adam and I visited Caballo Estate, we knew this venue was perfect for our wedding. It was us, classy but comfortable.
My favorite part of the day was walking down the aisle. After all of the planning and stressing out over each detail, at that moment, none of it mattered. It was just about Adam and me and celebrating our love and commitment for each other. Family and friends are very important to us, and we wanted to make sure that we included them in the wedding planning process and in the wedding. We were lucky enough to have my uncle, Monsignor Craig, officiate our wedding. Another way we were able to cherish the memory of our wedding and all of our friends and family was by having a thumbprint tree for our guests to fill. This way we will be able to have it up in our house for many years to come, and it will remind us of our friends and family on that special day.
