Ace Hotel Wedding by Valeria Duque & Juan Felipe Rubio

The Ace Hotel is kind of like the definition of cool. All four of their locations are unique and gorgeous and full of unexpected details that make for a stunning wedding backdrop. But, the best part is that when you layer on a bit of girly goodness like this next bride did…and we’re talking gorgeous pink peonies, glittery sequined shoes, chevron print everything and a sense of awesome built into the very structure of the day…Ace Hotel cool is taken to an entirely new level of lovely. Photographed by Valeria Duque and Juan Felipe Rubio, this is definitely one to fall hard for. And believe it or not, there is SO much more in the gallery.

From Valeria, the photographer…Megan and Josh are the kind of couple that you instantly love. When we meet we talked about books, about fashion, about their life in New York, about their dog Brooklyn. After a lot of emailing, gift exchanging via regular mail, and some ocasional meals we had when I was in NY, we became good friends, so when Josh finally popped the question they contacted me and Juan Felpe Rubio from efeunodos and asked us to team up again and pack our sandals for their fantastic California wedding! And obviously, we said YES!

The venue was the super hip ACE Hotel in Palm Springs, an old Howard Johson that still has all of its vintage charm, with lots of cool features and decorations. Meg works in PR for a book publisher so she obviously knows how to throw a party and she designed her wedding with that same passion.

Meg got ready in a hotel suite and she had her mom, mother in law, her 7 bridesmaids and off course, her dog Brooklyn (the one blinking and wearing the adorable coral bow tie) to keep her company. The color palette was coral, grey and orange, so each bridesmaid could choose her own dress as long as it fit into the color scheme.

The decor was gorgeous because Meg was literally on top of everything! Coral and orange details and a chevron print created such a strong wedding brand that was infused into every last detail. Instead of using the traditional moustaches or speech bubbles for their photobooth props, they had wigs and glasses so the guests could either dress up as Meg or Josh! The pictures turned out great!

Dinner was served, speeches made and the bride and groom took to the dance floor and danced their first song as a married couple. Then the party really started. Girls kicked off their heels, guests jumped right in the pool! It was quite a party!
