Bahia Del Sol Wedding by A Brit and A Blonde

As if Bahia Del Sol Hotel wasn't eye candy enough, this bride went all out DIY and it is to DIE! That lovely lady in that Sara Seven dress below made everything- from the favor bags, to the table runner, to the napkins, to the menus, to the ribbons wands, to the cake topper nod to the softball team where she met her groom - the list is as endless as the beauty it all created on their big day. See all the homemade candy colored cuteness in A Brit and a Blonde's fabulous photos in the full gallery!

From the photographer... Kathleen is a truly talented DIY bride - for her wonderfully lovely and sunny destination wedding in Costa Rica she created a ton of the design elements herself: she hand painted the super cute cake toppers (which are of her and Tom as an homage to the softball team the Zingerballs which is where they met), she handprinted the Gracias favour bags with a lino relief cut and her mom hand sewed each one, she made the table runner, the napkins (each was a different fun print!), the bunting banners, the menus, the ribbons on the ceremony and reception chairs and the ribbon wands or "celebration sticks" as Kathleen likes to call them. Just to name a few! She chose yellow as the main color- since it is a bright and happy colour. The bridesmaids all chose their own pretty yellow dress and the groomsmen looked dapper with their suspenders. Such a fun detail were the sandals that the bride and bridesmaids wore - they are made by Sseko and can be tied in many different ways. The sandals are handmade by women in Uganda, Africa - empowering them to further their education in order to change the world. They are an amazing company and the sandals are darling! Since one of Kathleen's bridesmaids could not make it and neither could her grandmother - she included a pin from each of them on her bouquet - so they still would be with her on her big day. Tom & Kathleen are from Toronto, Canada. Although Kathleen and Tom's wedding was done on a budget - the DIY details gave it a personal touch that money just can't buy!
