From the Bride... If I had to describe our wedding in one word, it would be family. We were married on 6/11, the same day my parents, grandparents and great-grandparents wed years before us. The center stone in my engagement ring was originally my mother-in-law's engagement diamond, and my now-husband designed the setting around it. My Uncle Scott married us — the same man whose wedding I was a flower girl in more than 20 years ago. And much of the wording of the passage read during the ceremony came straight from my parents' wedding.

My now-husband and I had been together more than five years when we got engaged, and while we both had known for quite some time we wanted to spend our life together, we were thrilled to host the best party our friends and family had ever been to. As we met during college in New York, and Dan's family is from Boston, we knew that a large chunk of our guests would be traveling from out of town, so we wanted to provide them with a special California experience. As soon as we saw the rooftop of the Canary Hotel, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and beautiful mountains, we knew this is where we would say "I do." The weekend of our wedding was typical Southern California weather, and "June Gloom" had taken over. We were okay with the fact it wouldn't be sunny during our wedding, but were thrilled it wasn't raining with the both the ceremony and reception outside. One hour before I was set to walk down the aisle, the clouds parted and sunshine lit the sky — and stayed like that until the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen.

Our wedding day was without a doubt the most amazing day of both of our lives. The one thing I was told when planning your wedding was to never forget the meaning of that day. My favorite part of the day was my husband's vows. He had the majority of guests in tears and blew me away with his thoughtfulness. And after the ceremony, it was the dance party that stayed hopping until the end of the night.
