Picnic Wedding at Yosemite National Park by Brooke Beasley Photography

You are cordially invited to a vintage picnic wedding built for two. It’s about as sweet as they come with a couple who decided to pack up and head out to Yosemite for some outdoorsy “I Do’s” and they had Brooke Beasley Photography in tow to capture all the marry making complete with a Coca-Cola toast. Told you these two were adorable. It’s cotton bouquets, crazy fabulous D’Orsay heels and lots of love. See it here.

From the Bride… Justin and I share a love for photography, so finding the right photographer was very important to us. We came across Brooke’s photography blog site when searching for photographers in the Yosemite area and fell in love! Her images are beautiful, unique and full of light! We knew from the start that we wanted a very small, budget-friendly and fuss-free wedding. We both love the outdoors, and after recently visiting and hiking in Alaska, we knew we wanted something scenic and majestic as our backdrop. We are both from Texas, but knew we wanted to have our wedding in the beautiful bay area of California. A Cali wedding with Southern charm and hospitality. When we came across the perfect mountains and waterfalls of Yosemite, we knew in an instant this was the place.

Decor was minimal, as we felt the forest, mountains, and waterfalls spoke for themselves. But showing our personalities was a must! When looking at our budget, and wanting to capture the majesty of Yosemite itself, Justin came up with the idea of a picnic reception. We pulled together a couple key pieces, such as my late grandmother’s antique butterfly, our parents’ wedding pics, antique bottles that Justin collected, my mom’s quilts, and bought some large picnic baskets. With the help of our photographer, Brooke, bringing her own crates to set things on, it all turned out better than I imagined. I remember looking at the picnic after my mom had set it up and thinking, that looks like something from a magazine!

Sure, it was a unique way to celebrate, but that’s just us. We wanted the wedding to show our personalities. From my cotton bouquet to a Coca-Cola toast to his red gingham plaid shirt, everything just fit. We didn’t follow anyone else’s rules, only our own. And were able to refrain from breaking the bank or stressing over a large production. With only the groom’s parents and the bride’s mother and sister attending, it was very easy going. It really was the perfect day, and having Yosemite Falls in the background didn’t hurt either!
