Happy Friday my pretties! We’ve got quite the eye candy to send you off into the weekend with and it involves everything from taxidermy to the prettiest of sequined dresses. Just one quick glance at this gorgeous photo shoot and I was instantly obsessed with the creative eye of both Lyndsey Hamilton Events and Elisabeth Millay Photography. Oh, and Northern California as a whole. Seriously, have you ever seen such natural beauty before? I want to live inside this photo shoot forever.

From Lyndsey Hamilton Events: After visiting Holman Ranch for a client last Fall, it became the inspiration when conceptualizing the perfect setting for a Northern California photo shoot. The goal was to design a space around the beauty and authenticity of the location. There were various layers to the shoot, as one of the vignettes was intended to compliment the site and the other to contrast. We wanted to showcase two “cocktail hour” design options, with one room displaying the natural, expected aesthetic we envisioned as a “Hacienda Hunting Lodge” and the other juxtaposing this aesthetic by using mid-century modern furniture. Having been a hunting lodge and working farm, it seemed obvious to incorporate taxidermy. The use racks, birds, and animal prints felt like a natural addition to our “Hacienda Hunting Lodge” theme. The furniture is from rEvolve Designs, a furniture design and event rental company based in Oakland, CA. Evolve creates a variety of pieces in-house, for rent or purchase, as well as carry an array of couches, chairs, tables, rugs, props, and textiles. Many of the pieces shown here were made and designed specifically for the photo shoot. rEvolve believes in being as local and sustainable as possible, using reclaimed woods and eco-friendly materials. We wanted the floral design to be somewhat masculine because of the location, while at the same time be lush, romantic, and beautiful. We felt that a clean white and green color palette would compliment the space and furniture. Sharla Flock created the amazing florals with tillandsia, succulents, peonies, dusty miller, dendrobium orchids, and cattleya orchids. We chose to use vintage silver containers, glassware, and props. The use of air plants and succulents gave an obvious nod to Northern California. We wanted the stationery to be playful and reflective of the Ranch. Mr. Boddington created this lovely suite with icons to compliment the theme and location.
From Elisabeth Millay: For the “Hacienda Hunting Lodge” vignette, we decided to style our model to be a soft element amongst the masculine items in the room. We chose a champagne Sue Wong cocktail dress, with gold details and ostrich feather trim. We incorporated a MelanyBE elk necklace and swan ring to tie in with the taxidermy. Shannon Smith and Stacie Ford did an amazing job creating her hair and makeup to fit in with the aesthetic; a loose chignon with beaded headband, and makeup inspired from 20’s photographs. In the second vignette, we styled Sarah in a mid-century silhouette, a flirty mod inspired shift. The mint green platform slingbacks from Zara completed the playful look. Rebecca Shepherd’s white beaded earrings looked like they were just made for the outfit! The beauty team transformed Sarah into a voluminous beehive pony, with cat eyes and nude lips.
