Backyard Arizona Wedding at Chantel Marie Photography

Swooning over a sweet backyard wedding just so happens to be one of my favorite ways to spend the day, so when Chantel Marie Photography sent along this glorious Arizona fête, I knew we were in for a fabulous Friday.  Boasting bundles upon bundles of gorgeous DIY details and some serious (and I mean serious) style, it’s casual meets elegant done oooh-sooo-right.  And with every last moment crafted with love by the uber-adorable Mr. and Mrs. (of Ruffled Ink Designs!), the gallery is literally overflowing with a whole lot of fun and personality.  Our favorite kind.  See it all right here.

From the Bride… Our inspiration for the wedding all started the night Cory proposed to me. One winter night he took me to a beautiful riparian where we walked by the lakeside and just over a little hill I saw a palo verde tree all lit up with different mason jars and lanterns leading a pathway inside the tree to a little table with my beautiful ring and another mason jar lit up behind it that Cory had painted with our names and the date of his proposal on it. Each jar had a pretty design of lace and doilies that Cory painted and he even hired a photographer to capture our beautiful moment. After that night, we wanted to have a wedding that was just as personal and unique. The vision we wanted to portray was delicacy, soft colors and intricate details. Cory and I are very detail-oriented people, so we added as many personal touches as we could. We folded hundreds of gold origami cranes, made all the table cloths and runners, designed our wedding invitations, made all the ladies’ hair pieces, including my own and put a different design on each mason jar at the table. Cory and I also made our arch out of tree branches and hand-pieced flowered vines. Being a designer myself and designing wedding announcements for my business, Ruffled Ink, I wanted to make our invitation very personal and unique by telling our love story in our invitations, so that all of our guests would know a little something about our journey. We wanted our wedding to be an intimate backyard wedding with close friends and family to celebrate this special day. We loved having how perfectly calming the beautiful weather was with palm trees, the smell of orange blossoms on the breeze, and a refreshing poolside lit up with globe lighting, lace and a perfectly decorated cake. We loved each one of our vendors; they were so creative and talented. Every moment was perfect, ending in floating lanterns and sparklers waving us goodbye.
