Austin Wedding from SMS Photography + Bouquets of Austin + Barbara’s Brides

I am calling myself the number one fan of classic soirees with sweet little somethings today. This wedding, coordinated by Barbara’s Brides, being number one of the favorites list. The design was deeply rooted in gorgeous tradition, starting with the flowers from Bouquets of Austin right onto the ivory and blush color palette. Then, enter my favorite part, the next layer. The striped socks on the groom. The individual looks twobirds Bridesmaids created for the ‘maids. The unexpected charm in every shot from SMS Photography. It’s perfectly layered, and we’ve got a full gallery to prove it!

Jon and I both wanted our day to be romantic, classic, and intimate and the day turned out exactly how we envisioned and most of all it was about family, friendship and the celebration of young love. After setting a date for our spring wedding, the color choices were obvious: ivory and blush. Every one of our vendors’ amazing work and care made for a seamless experience, and the planning process flowed easily once we had decided on our ceremony and reception venue. We were lucky enough to have the lovely Stacy with SMS photography capture the story of our day so perfectly. She is one of those photographers that just gets it and her truly stunning work reminds you that weddings are really about two people’s beginning/end of a fairytale.

All of my favorite aspects of the wedding were the small details thanks to ideas and inspirations from Style Me Pretty and our wonderful vendors, especially Becky with Bouquets of Austin that made it come to life. One of the most fun parts of planning our wedding was working together with Lehua Chong, the talented designer behind all the printed goods for our wedding, who hand letter pressed every single one of our whimsical invites. I was told that invitation sets the tone of the wedding and I took that very seriously. The Save-The-Date was actually an idea from the groom. We got engaged at a beautiful historic hotel in a small town, Milford, Pennsylvania. The save the date was meant to be the letter to our friends and family on the stationery of the hotel where we got engaged. Another favorite was customizing the menu. Because Jon and I were completely spoiled by the wealth of food living in NYC, and we wanted to make sure we created a menu that reflected our favorite foods from different restaurants around the city.

Sharing the day with our nearest and dearest brought us so much joy. From our incredibly emotional ceremony to vivid memories of everyone dancing to the last song “Purple Rain”, it was an evening filled with overwhelming sense of happiness and gratitude to our friends, family and everyone else who helped make an absolutely perfect day.
