Melbourne Wedding at Royal Botanic Gardens by Louisa Bailey

I'm not sure what I love more about this next garden-party style wedding: the low-key vibe or the beyond adorable bride and groom (really...HOW CUTE are they)!?  These sun-drenched images captured by Louisa Bailey are a perfect reflection of this intimate celebration held at Melbourne's Royal Botanic Gardens. Bright florals from Pash Flowers & Homewares, a Thread cocktail-length wedding dress and infectious smiles are icing on the cake for this beauty of an event. From the Bride... Rob and I wanted our wedding to be three things: intimate, personal and ridiculously good fun! Bathed in the beautiful late afternoon sunshine of Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens, we couldn’t have been blessed with a more perfect venue or summer’s day to say “I do” surrounded by our closest family and friends. We wanted our day to feel more like a garden party than a wedding, and apart from the ceremony itself, the day was formality free. Our ceremony rolled straight into the reception, everyone came dressed as they pleased, and there was no cutting of cake or first dance – there was instead a party atmosphere in celebration of 10 incredible years together and finally making it official!

Our day was filled with laughter, colour and little reflections of us. From the slideshow that flicked through snapshots of our story so far, to the music which played, to our tables filled with hand-made table placements and jars collected from vintage stores, to Rob’s famous homemade flourless chocolate cupcakes which everyone took home as favours – our wedding was anything but cookie cutter.

But for us, the most important part of the day was each other and the people in our lives. Once our invitations were out, we knew the rest would fall into place, as having everyone we love most in the one room, at the one time, was what we wanted above all else. When I look back at the beautiful photos taken by our incredibly talented photographer Louisa Bailey, I can’t help but smile. Everyone looks like they are having so much fun, and we couldn’t have wished or planned for anything more perfect than that.
